The Sweet Suprise...

It was just an ordinary day at class, feeling sleepy as usual. Then a sms came in, it was Deary asking bout my break time and reconfirming my class location. Since afternoon Deary has been asking me questions about my class timing and venue... something fishy is going on and I was right! Haha... she's dropping by to accompany me for break!

It has already been a tough day at work for her, she could hv gone home to rest, she could have went for dinner, but she chose to travel to a very unfamiliar place, just to spend 15min with me... really v v sweet of her! I bet she must be famished, cos it's already so late by the time she reached my place.

There was nothing special about the place, no fancy food too... but it was her that warmed my heart...

Thank you dear... thank you for being sucha sweet darling =)

Fish Spa @ Bottle Tree Village

Bottle 2

We've been wanting to visit Bottle Tree Village for quite awhile already but was unable to do so due to our busy work schedule. We were so excited that we can finally find a suitable day for this very special outing =)

Actually the Bottle Tree Village is situated at a rather ulu end of the island and require a 20min walk from the nearest bus stop. We were rather lucky that day, after alighting from the bus, we only walked a couple of minutes before a Bottle Tree Village van stopped beside us and offered us a ride to the village (yes people, you can imagine the typical kidnap scene where a van suddenly appear on a deserted road and the door suddenly swing open... hahaha).

It was a rather serene venue located beside the sea, not exactly big... I think you can finish touring the entire place in about 15min... haha. But there're quite a few amenities there... prawning, pool, fish spa and a seafood restaurant. Our ultimate motive there is to give the fish spa a go....

We're the only ones at the Fish Spa, perhaps it is becos of the fact that its a weekday. We were given a simple explanation of the price package and was shown a samples of the Doctor Fish at the counter area. As much as we wanna attempt, we were quite nervous, we cant imagine having so many fishes nibbling on our legs! Being typical Singaporeans... we kia si, kia su and kiam siap... we opted for the cheapest package of $9 for 15min treatment. But we did inform the staff that we MIGHT upgrade our package to a 30min package at $15. Depending on how well the experience goes.

When we sat beside the pool we were a bit taken aback... how come there's so much more fishes and they are like so much bigger than the ones we saw just now!! No choice, money paid, gotta do it! We placed our feet inside to test water the fishes and they swarmed to us like bees! Took us only a few seconds to withdrew our legs from the pool... hahaha. It's a little intimidating and ticklish... we can literally feel all the fishes shouting "FOOD!" as we lower our legs into the water.

After many attempts, we finally got used to the weird feeling of hundreds of fishes feasting on our legs. It was a rather therapeutic experience, the fishes removing the dead skin and at the same time giving us micro massage.... tranquil and private environment. It was so good and relaxing that we eventually upgraded to the 30min package!

For those who haven done it before, do check it out... its fun! But do go for those reputable ones, cos we learnt that some fish spas actually uses fake Doctor Fishes, they only graduated with a diploma =D

Thanx for spending such an awesome day with me darling! *hugz*

Organic Durian Plantation

Been ages since I last blogged... I can virtually see cobwebs all over!! Not sure if anyone still visits this blog... but I'm sure one very special person still does so =)

Anyway, here comes a pretty backdated update... Voluntary work at Organic Durian Farm.

Deary & myself dragged ourselves up before dawn and made our way to the gathering point in Kranji. The bus ride to the plantation took about 2hrs and we entertained ourselves with the rural scenery along the way. Not the first time I see oil palm and rubber plantations but I can see that Dear was very fascinated... haha =D

In case anyone has the impression that we're there for Durian Eating, you're wrong, its really manual work. But the plantation owner is an extremely nice lady. She gave us plenty of durians to eat before we started work! =p

We also managed to see some mangosteens, they actually look a little pinkish when fresh from the trees, I think they're shy... bwhahahaha =D

Being an organic farm, no pesticides or weed killers were being used, thus the ground is filled with weeds and we can see lotsa insects all over the place. Occasionally you can see pieces of opened durians under the trees. Who threw them there? The squirrels... haha, I learnt that squirrels are fans of durians too! Initially most of us were not used to the environment, especially with the super big red ants and mosquitoes, but we eventually got accustomed.

Our job there actually sounds very simple, we're required to apply organic fertilizers and to remove the weeds. Sup sup water lah... so many of us, will be done in a jiffy! My goodness, never realised that digging a few holes, fill it up with fertilizers and covering it up can be so tedious. After about 4hrs, we only managed to finish up the fertilizer portion and we're aching all over already. Incidentally Deary loves the smell of the organic fertilizers (hint of burnt chocolate smell), so she was enjoying herself alot while planting the fertilizers =D

Although it was only a one day trip, its very educational and we ought to give our salute to the 2 plantation owners who does everything themselves. So my dear frens, next time you see someone selling organic durians, although its cost a little more, do give them some support... it is a healthier choice too =)
